- Apply to actively growing weeds. For the herbicide to work effectively, weeds should be healthy and not stressed by drought, extreme heat, or recent mowing
- Mow a few days before, not after. Mow the lawn 2–3 days before application so weeds have fresh leaf surface exposed. Avoid mowing for at least a week after treatment to allow the product to be absorbed
- Apply on a calm, dry day. Choose a rain-free window of at least 24 hours to ensure the herbicide is not washed off. Light winds or still conditions prevent spray drift onto garden beds
- Water the lawn lightly a day prior. Slightly moist soil (not waterlogged) helps the weeds take up the herbicide more effectively
- Avoid using on newly laid or stressed lawns. Wait until new turf is established, and skip application during extreme heat or drought stress
- Reapply only if necessary. Some tougher weeds may need a second application a few weeks later—follow the label instructions for timing and safety
