How to apply Dulux Duramax Marble Effect

Dulux Duramax Marble Finish is a speciality spray-paint that delivers an elegant marble finish on top of Dulux Duramax colours.

DIY Project Steps

1. Clean chosen object

Wipe the surface of your object, making sure it’s clean and dry.

2. Setup for application

Setup your area and position your chosen object so that it is easily reached by the spray. Before spraying, shake can for at least three minutes before use and regularly during use to ensure an even stream and application. Then, use the cap of the spray can allowing you to spray underneath the object.

3. Apply base coat

Spray the surface with your choice of base coat colour- it will present with the black marble effect. Hold can upright 15 to 25cm from the surface. You can test the spray on a piece of cardboard to determine desired effect.

4. Apply marble effect

Apply Dulux Duramax Marble Effect black to your painted surface. Spray with fast, even strokes parallel to the surface. For best results, apply with exaggerated wrist movements, to create a more random effect and create the appearance of marble.

5. Un-block nozzle

Prevent blocking by turning the can upside down and spraying until clear. Wipe with a clean cloth.

6. Apply clear coat

After waiting up to 24 hours for your object to be touch-dry, finish off by applying Duramax gloss clear coat. This delivers an essential protective finish to your surface.
