Kristian and Mimi’s DIY Challenge was a beautiful feature wall using Laminex Surround and the judges loved it.  They selected the ‘Scallop 45’ profile - a stylish and popular design characterised by wide, softly undulating curves for a luxurious touch. Laminex wall panels are primed and ready to paint – saving you time without compromising on beauty and functionality.

Laminex wall panel is a modern range of ready-made, decorative surface panels designed for installation ease.  Instantly elevate your home with these versatile, hard-working panels designed for wall linings and interior surfaces including hallways, bedrooms, mudrooms, and living areas.

Do It Yourself!

Step 1: Measure wall areas where the Laminex panelling is to be installed

Step 2: Head into your local Mitre 10 and discuss your sizing and order requirements

Step 3: Use circular saw to cut to size

Step 4: Nail or screw the panels directly onto prepared plasterboard (or timber, steel, brick or masonry wall surface)

Step 5: Tongue and groove second panel into place and affix

Step 6: Repeat steps 5 and 6 until you complete the laying of sheets

Step 7: Use wood filler to fill small nail or screw holes

Step 8: Sand the filler putty once dried to a smoot surface

Step 9: Caulk to seal any gaps

Step 10 : Paint – Kristian and Mimi chose Colourbond’s ‘Mangrove’ to paint their feature panels

This is how Kristian and Mimi did it, but remember to call in an expert to ensure the application is suitable for your situation and the right materials are used. Your local Mitre 10 can help with this.
