Completing an interior stains project with Cabot’s

There are multiple options for coating and protecting interior timber. Using a clear varnish or oil allows you to enhance the natural colour of your timber whilst protecting it from everyday wear and tear. If you are looking to completely change the look of your timber, a stain will transform the colour and let the timber grain show through.

Changing the colour of your timber can be completed using two methods

  1. Using Cabot’s® Interior Stain and top coating with a clear coat such as Cabot’s Cabothane Clear
  2. Completing colour and protection in one with Cabot’s Stain and Varnish.

There is no right or wrong answer when choosing between these options, we have a few tips to help you make the right product choice for your project.
