How To Build a Planter Box

There are many benefits to having your own planter boxes at home. They are an ideal way to create a garden in a small space or a perfect way to grow veggies in soil that has been regulated. Whatever your reasons, planter boxes look fantastic and will be a bright addition to any home.

In this Mighty helpful article, we will show you 5 simple steps to build you own planter box.

DIY Project Steps

1. Prepare your timber

Have your timber cut to size by one of our friendly Team Members in-store.

We’ve gone with 140 x 35 treated pine, but you can go with whatever size you like; you can use different lengths so you have variation in the height of your planter boxes.

2. Assemble planter boxes

Assemble your planter boxes using an impact driver and bugle head screws.

3. Fill your planter boxes

Once you have your planter boxes assembled and in place you are ready to fill your planter boxes.

4. Use the proper substrate

Fill your boxes 3 quarters of the way with stones for drainage and then top with potting mix.

5. Finishing touches

Add your plants and for some decoration you can add some stones to the top.
