Ready to give your fence a whole new look? We’ve got you covered. Cabot's Timbercolour Deck & Exterior Paint has been specially formulated to offer UV protection and block harmful UV rays that can damage your exterior timber. Exceptional durability and dirt and stain resistance mean Timbercolour opaque paint goes the distance. And the best bit? It can be tinted to a large range of colours so you’ll always get the look you’re after.

DIY Project Steps
1. Prep
Before you get started, make sure you prep your surfaces properly. Preparation is essential before coating timber as it gives you a smooth finish to work with, meaning your paint will glide right on. Before you do anything, use a wire brush to remove any imperfections on older fences. Then, depending on the condition of your fence, there are several ways you may need to prepare for coating:
New Bare Timber: Scrub damp timber with Cabot’s New Timber Prep to draw out tannins and oils from the surface. After you’ve done this, use Cabot’s Deck Clean, following label’s instructions as you go. Allow the timber to dry.
Weathered and Grey Timber: Scrub the fence with Cabot’s Deck Clean, following the label’s directions. Allow timber palings to dry before coating.
Pre-Primed Timber and Painted Surfaces: Scrape off all loose and flaking paint, then sand all surfaces to a flat finish before dusting off so they’re clean.
2. Application
Stir Cabot's Timbercolour Deck & Exterior Paint thoroughly with a flat blade stirrer before and during use. Using a brush, roller or spray, apply a generous coat along the board, making sure you seal the end grain. If you’re using a spray, always back brush immediately to ensure an even finish. If you’re using a roller, use a brush for the edges and any fiddly bits.
3. Allow drying time, then reapply
Allow the first coat to dry for two hours before applying a second and third coat using the same method as above. Some colours may need more coats to achieve full opacity – see how you go.
4.Admire your handiwork
Not only is your fence protected from the elements, but how great does your brand, spanking new fence look?
