D-shackles are commonly used to make secure connections with chain, wire rope, other rigging hardware and rope. These are also commonly used to link a shade sail corner to a secure anchoring point, and on trailer safety chains. D-shackles are the most common shackle type and most other shackle types are a variation of the D-shackle. This loads on this shackle should be applied primarily in Line.
