Silvertop Ash timber is a large Australian hardwood, most commonly used for general construction such as decking and flooring. It has been found to provide a good level of fire resistance. Silvertop Ash is a moderately durable hardwood and relatively light when compared to other hardwood species. The timber has a medium texture with a straight grain. It also often comes with natural features including gum veins and ambrosia, giving the timber a unique look.
To preserve the durability and colour of the Silvertop Ash timber decking, it is important to apply a decking finish, such as oil, to the exposed surfaces. Re-apply according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Leaving Silvertop Ash timber exposed can cause the timber to develop cracks as well as lose colour.
