Is your outdoor dining area looking a like it needs a little TLC? With the warmer weather on its way it’s a great time to think about restyling your alfresco entertaining area and prepare your home for summer barbeques and everyday meals outside with family and friends. Here’s how.

Designing new features and resurfacing walls with fibre cement cladding such as JM Axon™ Cladding is a cost effective and long-lasting way to change the look of your outdoor alfresco dining area with a range classic and contemporary styles. This durable cladding is designed for outdoor areas and is an easy DIY solution to create a great new look and feel.

2. Measuring Up

First up you’ll need to measure up things to determine the area you want to construct and conceal using JM Axon™ Cladding. Sheets are available in different sizes so taking the time to get the right measurements for your project can save you time and money.

3. Structural Support

If you decide you want to install a new feature such as a modesty wall then a simple structural support such as plywood is perfect for providing a solid base to adhere JM Axon™ Cladding. For larger jobs timber framing can be used and the cladding screwed directly onto wall studs.

4. Cut & Paste

JM Axon™ Cladding can be measured and cut to fit any space. Marking up your cut lines and using a circular saw fitted with a fibre cement cutting blade will ensure you get the best result. Using a tracking guide ensures you get the straightest line cuts.

Use a good quality fibre cement adhesive to attach cladding to the structural framing or wall sheeting and fasten with clamps to make sure it’s well bonded. Once cladding has been set in place use screws to make sure it’s well secured.
