This popular and versatile NiFe-Cl type cast iron welding rod is suitable for high strength, hot or cold welding of cast iron to itself (including grey/malleable, nodular, SG and austenitic cast irons) and cast iron to steel. This type of welding rod is stronger and more resistant to solidification cracking than the pure nickel electrode types (such as Ni-Cl). Fully machinable weld deposits and are suitable for hot or cold welding (with or without preheating). Note that preheating and post-heating are recommended for best results, see the cast-iron welding guide for more details.
