Dulux Concrete & Paving Sealed Surface Cleaner is the first stage in preparing the surface for coating. It is formulated to remove stubborn oil and grease stains for optimal adhesion of subsequent coats of paint. Also use on coated surfaces to keep them looking clean. Application Method:
Safety first. Wear suitable protective clothing and eyewear when mixing and applying the product.
Sweep the surface clean.
Pressure wash the surface, removing any loose materials and peeling or flaking coatings. You may find a large amount of old coating starts to wash away under high pressure. It is important to continue to remove as much as possible to create a sound base for the new coating system.
Mix the Dulux Concrete and Paving Sealed Surface Cleaner into a bucket at a ratio of 1 part cleaner to 20 parts water. For heavily stained areas use a ratio of 1 part cleaner to 5 parts water.
Apply the Sealed Surface Cleaner, at the appropriate dilution, using a stiff bristled broom, scrubbing into the surface as you go and allow to sit for 15 minutes. Do not allow the surface to dry.
Scrub the surface again, focusing on any stubborn stains.
Rinse off using a high-pressure washer to leave the surface clean.
You are now ready for Stage 2 – Priming.
NOTE: Steps 4 to 7 may need to be repeated for heavily stained surfaces.
