How To Build a Pallet Bar Table
DIY Project Steps
1. Prepare the pallet
Find yourself a pallet. Many stores will give these away for free so don’t be afraid to ask.
Use a reciprocating saw to carefully cut out the nails and disassemble the pallet. Be mindful as you go, making sure to preserve as many bearers and rails as possible as these will form important parts of your bar table.
2. Mark and cut bearers
After you've successfully taken apart the pallet use the bearers to create the legs. Measure and mark the bearers with two at 230mm and four at 310mm and then, using your circular saw.
3. Mark and cut rails
Now, grab those rails and take your time to measure and cut them. You'll require a total of eighteen pieces, with ten measuring at 1 metre and eight measuring 450mm. Again, using your circular saw cut up the rails.
4. Assemble the base
Set up two legs on sawhorses or a bench. Place one of the 230mm bearers on each of the sawhorses, and position two of the 1 metre rails on top and screw into place. Repeat the same steps: Grab another 1-meter rail and screw it onto the side of the bearer to form the corners, complete this step four times.
Tip: Ensure that the edges are aligned and level.
5. Connect both sides
Position the two sides facing each other, those remaining 310mm bearers will be used to connect them. Place these bearers beneath the existing ones on the inside, carefully holding underneath and screwing from the top. Repeat this process on each end and on both sides. Now you have a box.
6. Complete the base
With the reaming two 1 metre rails, mark the centre position and screw into place between the rails. Completing and enclosing the box.
7. Build the top
Find the centre position on four of the 450mm rails, lay them across the top of the box and screw into place. With the remaining four rails edge the outside.
Tip: Ensure that the edges are aligned and level.
Job done! Now you have yourself a new bar table to go with your bar stool.
